Buttons are addictive as beads

I can see that buttons collecting is addictive as collecting beads. I recently came into a collection of old buttons. There are all kinds, wood, shell, plastic, and metal.

I had so much fun looking at them all and trying to figure out a few ring combinations.

Wooden Button Mother of Pearl Brass Ring

The first ring I made was with this old wooden button. Don't you love the texture and patina of the wood?

I put a carved mother of pearl button on top that has a starburst pattern. I also added 3 tiny brass beads just for fun.

The ring is on a darkened brass base and is adjustable from size 5 to size 7. Available in my Etsy shop.

Yes, I am stuck in a Coral Haze

I'm enamored with the color of Coral right now. Check out this item in my shop.

I think this necklace would look lovely to wear this spring and summer. Coral is one of my favorite colors! I found these fresh looking speckled glass beads which went well with the orangy pink chrysamthumum flower I had. I secured the flower to a piece of brass filigree that I added a patina to and polished to show a bit of gleam.

Coral Wrap Fringed Stole by LazyTcrochet

I just love this wrap, don't you?

Is it Salmon, Coral, Flamingo, or Papaya Pink? This wrap can be worn with a dress, or even with jeans. I've paired this color with white, black, blue, green, and especially brown. Wear it as a shoulder wrap or shawl, or as a fun scarf or neck-warmer in the colder months.

Spring is almost here

It certainly seems a lot closer to Spring with the temps in the 70's in Indianapolis early March. I'm celebrating the warm weather by featuring this notecase and a pair of earrings today.

Filigree Diamonds by me

Simple, lightweight, and long. Just the way I like my earrings and hopefully the way you like yours too.

I flattened a piece of aged brass filigree and added a lime green glass tear drop bead for a hint of color. They are shown on brass leverbacks, but can be switched to hook or kidney wires free of charge.

Sticks, Pokes, and Long Pointy Things

Yesterday, I made visit to the Dentist office to get an old filling fixed and one new filling. I just cringe at the thought of getting those numbing shots in my mouth. I would rather be home sewing or making jewelry.

Pincushion Ring - Hot Pink with Black Scrolls

I just love Dotty's idea of putting a pin cushion on a ring. Only $8.00 What a cute idea!
I’m here to rescue you, your family and pets. No more sticking your pins in the armrest of the sofa, in the rug, ironing board or your pants leg. No more “Ouch, what’s this pin doing here?”
The ring is made from base metal. The pincushion is cotton fabric stuffed with polyester batting.

Pink Capped Glass and Brass Earrings by TheBrassHussy (me)

My inspiration for these was trying to figure out what to do with these pink beads, lol. They remind me of upside down ice cream cones.

I love the contrast between the hot pink glass and the darkened brass filigree. The earrings are just over 2 inches long. If you would prefer them on shorter earwires, please look at my other items for leverback and hook styles. No charge for swapping them out.

The Bell Dangles in Sterling by OneGarnetGirl

These earrings hang approximately 2.25 inches in length on long artisan earwires made by RockisSupplies.

I have domed and shaped sterling silver and then set two gorgeous 9x7mm red garnets into the matte settings.

Each pair of earrings is made to order, so if you would like to use a different stone, please get in touch with me for pricing quotes and the stones I have available.

Repurposed Heart - brass pendant necklace by TheBrassHussy

While playing with my stash of vintage and costume jewelry, I decided that this old heart earring needed to be remade into a pendant.

The heart has small deep red dangles that remind me of garnets.

I added a bail for the heart to hang from and put the pendant on a lead free nickel free brass chain. The clasp is a simple hook and eye. You choose the length of the chain, from 14, 16, 18, 20 or 22 inches
